Default frame mounted tow point

Hi all,

I couldn't seem to find an answer by searching the forum but I'm looking into doing a bit of off-roading this spring and one of the requirements is front and back frame mounted tow points. What's the best way to do this on a stock '03 D2?

Pretty sure the best way to do this is get a front and rear bumper with shackles. Since the bumper is bolted to the frame you now have front and rear tow points.....it'll cost you $$$ to get a commercial one (ie ARB) but if you have a good metal shop around you can probably get a similar quality one made just for you for half that.

If you have the receiver hitch. Get you one of these:

I'd have to update the front springs due to the extra weight wouldn't I? Actually I think the rules for this off road park mentions frame mounted tow points. Could you argue that the receiver hitch tow point is frame mounted?

Yes, because the hitch is mounted to the frame.

Front recovery points can be used with tow hooks bolted with grade 8 bolts to the frame.
