Best4X4 is spot on with how easy it is to get into the column and start with a screwdriver. It will take you 5-10 minutes tops. (
)

As far as a longer term solution. You can get the key cut code from the dealer with VIN and proof of ownership. Local locksmith to me charged $25 to make a key from the cut code. This was about three weeks ago.

Of course, it may have been re-keyed at some point. Not likely, but possible (ask me how I know). A local locksmith charged me $50 to make a key to fit the cylinder, but I took the cylinder to the locksmith, not a mobile visit. I took them the door handle actually, since I had both out. At that point I found that the door and ignition on mine were not keyed the same. I drilled out the retaining rivet on the ignition and re-wafered it so now they do use the same key.

I am cheap. I could have thrown about $400 at a mobile locksmith and just had it all done, but that seemed excessive in my case since the rest of the vehicle was also an unknown.

Good luck!

Wow1 Thanks guys! That’s the kind of information you hope you get out of a forum but rarely do!
So what I’m gonna do is what you guys suggested and remove the barrel and solenoid on trans selector. Hopefully with some fresh gas and battery I can limp it onto the trailer before I spend the money on keys and such. I have a title so that’s no problem.
I still have a broken serpentine belt to contend with but that shouldn’t stop it from starting right? It’ll just not charge or operate the water pump or am I mistaken?
Thanks again for your help

Correct on the belt, she'll run without it, but no AC compressor, alternator, or water pump functions.

I get not needing the AC or alternator but the water pump? You can't drive it w/o operating water pump right? Or yes.

It should be fine to get onto/off of a trailer, but correct, you can't drive it long w/o a water pump.

Yep exactly as sqlbullet said, it's good enough to move around and load up onto a trailer. Not to be driven down the road.

I’d take it. Worst case scenario you’ve got a parts truck. And you can make good money selling the parts on eBay and here.
