Default front axle advice

I'm doing ball joints and axle seals since mine are sweating badly and I've never done this. I have the rave by my side but still nervous.

Watch some of the on line videos you can Google. English blokes make it look like a 15 minute job (it's not).

I've seen some professional techs act like ball joints on a D2 is the worst job ever, and they recommend replacing the housing. Others act like it no different than other solid axle trucks.

Fortunately I have never had to do it.
