2001 D2 car is pulling hard to the left with an audible grinding sounds. at first thought i took the tire off to check the hub. hub seemed to be fine but noticed that the pads were almost completely touching the rotor. any ideas?

 

Sounds like your pads are gone and you are rubbing metal on metal.
Time for new brake pads.
