Front Cover Crank Seal Replacement Installation Tool Option
Hello All,
I wanted to share something I did when installing my new Front Cover Crank Seal on my last engine removal.
I was searching my Sockets for one large enough in diameter to fit O.D of the Crank Seal and came up with nothing.
I'd replaced the timing Gears and Chain this time around since i'd felt it was stretched more that it should have been so I had an extra Crank Timing Gear.
This Crank Timing Gear working very nicely against the surface of the Crank seal with a few taps from the hammer.
No sealant or RTV is needed on the seal install.
Good Luck on your repairs.

I took the seal to Home Depot and found a PVC connector that fit exactly. It has to be a little less than the outside diameter of the seal. I think I spent $1 on it and let me seat the seal evenly.
If you get a PVC connector make sure you get one with a smooth, rounded lip.
