Default Front drive shaft

Just fix my water pump and well I was under my truck I noticed my front drive shaft is not straight and it's popping i I can push up on it and wiggle it my back doesn't move at all. What do I need to order to redo my drive shaft joints, going to do both of them since I'm there

Sounds like your front DS needs to be done ASAP.
Wouldn't drive it till you fix it. If it comes apart, it may take out you transmission.....big bucks!

How to fix it... Go to Discovery II, Sticky: Write ups, How Tos.... and search under drivetrain. Very good posts by Antichrist & Antman.

Very easy to do.

Good Luck.

x2 on the don't drive, great possibility that tranny will be damaged by large hole poked in the case. About $7000 repair at dealer. Rework the shaft, very cheap. If must drive, and you have a CDL, you can remove front shaft, engage CDL, and use as 2 wheel drive.

Send me your e-mail address and I will send you a PDF on how to rebuild it and what parts to buy. Do you ever grease your drive shaft, if not plan on 4 u-joints and a centering ball. Have you ever rebuilt one before?

It is safe, if you have the ability to shift into CDL lock. Some are equipped with lever, some with just a nut on top of transfer case, and some need internal parts added.

If you have an Advanced Auto near you, buy your U-Joints from them and they are American made. Pep-boys and Autozone ect only sell Chinese made crap.

What is CDL lock, not familiar with that terminology. How do I know and where do I need to look?

Thanks
