Fuel pump - very high revs
I just picked up this 2004 D2. The previous owner had recently installed a fuel pump. The D2 drove fine. There was a smell of fuel in the cabin so I went to inspect the fuel pump. Took it out then put it back making sure it was seated properly in the gaskets. Went to turn engine on and now the engine roars, like I'm holding the gas pedal all the way down.
What did I do? Do fuel lines need to be bled?

That sucks! I recommend a Magnaflow Y Pipe/cats system. As a South Loop resident I suggest getting wheel locks especially on the spare tire. Dirt bags will snag that thing in a heart beat. Ask me how I know
Sorry to hear about the stolen cats. I just replaced my Y pipe (OEM grade) and stainless exhaust with the MagnaFlow system and it works great. No more freakin' codes! Beware, that the system will be rather sharp and loud until it gets heat treated with use (long runs not short grocery trips) and the muffler packing gets settled from exhaust flow. After 1200 miles, it sounds like you expect. Good luck!
