So, I am going to tackle this (hopefully) Saturday morning because, for some reason, Oklahoma has decided to be 60 degrees this week. My truck originally had the ACE on it, therefore has the dual reservoir, but the po's put regular springs in the back. Should this change the way I attack this maintenance, or should I treat it just like the ACE was still in place?

ACE is not SLS. ACE is an active roll system; SLS is the air shocks in the rear.

Does anyone have a sense of how many times, how much fluid it could take to flush a power steering system, non-ACE?

I ran 2 bottles through, 64 oz, the fluid is clear, but there is still a buzzing noise when I turn the wheel. I am inclined to believe I have a defective pump, but wanted to get a 2nd opinion. I have driven it quite a bit, hoping that time would allow it to settle also. Or, is the pump simply bad?

thanks,

Did you turn the steering wheel from lock to lock to get the air out of the power steering system?

Default flush

I did, lock to lock several times. Should it take much more than that? the noise does get worse when the steering is locked. I feel like I went at it a number of times, over the last couple months and it never gets better.

Not sure if you need a new seal kit for the pump or a new unit. Though I have not used it, Lucas does have a power steering conditioner. If this does not work, I think its a new unit.
