Check out the video off how bad my drive shaft was, U joints rather. Surprised it didn't break off... I plan on buying a complete front drive shaft.
That should have been noticeable unless deaf/blind w/o removal by a visual and shake while beneath.

by all right that should have cost you a transmission.
best make a sacrifice to the LR gods, because you owe them big time.

I get the feeling that we are all going to become very familiar with you. Read that 100K mile service plan on the top of the Discovery2 sub-forum and get started ASAP. Try to do something every week and hopefully you can stay ahead of the looming mechanical failures. If you fail to do so, your truck will be a salvage vehicle within a year. Your drive-shaft is the tip of the iceberg, my friend.

My driveway is sloped so there was always tension on the drive shaft. That is why I couldnt diagnose it properly without taking it off... But I was pretty sure this was the problem...

That shaft (whoever makes it) is a complete POS. The unit I removed off my black 02 D2 looked brand new, but the center ball was completely INOP after maybe being on that D2 for two months. At least an OEM shaft makes it to 100K normally before it goes for the transmission!!

I've debated getting it rebuilt as a trail spare, but honestly I'd rather just buy a good well made unit from Lucky8 and call it a day and make my rather new OEM front shaft be my spare.
