Sunroof piece sped off on the freeway....
On my way to work, taking the highway as usual and I heard a random noise on the roof, sounded like something broke off, slid across the roof and GONE. Now you can hear air whooshing likes its entering the cabin. BUT no noticeable air drafts yet. Anyways I was hoping someone might have a name or part number, or maybe a couple spare pieces they would sell me. Winter time is upon us and last thing I need is rain/snow/cold air leaking into the cabin. Otherwise my sunroofs have been very good to me, no leaks and they both continue to function as they should.

Anyone have any idea why this piece would randomly dislodge itself like that? I never put anything on the roof, dont use the roof rails or anything so I cant figure out for the life of me how it came out. Should I glue the replacement or does it just snap in?
Thanks

I think it's all plastic and just cracked from fatigue and heat. I'm not sure, but I believe it holds the hinge for the roof tilt function. I cannot remember whether it's the part that holds the glass also but be careful the sunroof glass doesn't disappear the same way motoring along on the highway.
Would it be this part?

It IS a nut, and it IS important to hold the glass in place. Don't just tape up the hole, be sure to get a nut and make sure you have the bolt on the other side.
Im buying one tomorrow. Not sure if I need the bolt though. Still cant believe it flew off like that. Of all the issues that COULD happen with the sunroof! Thanks guys for the info and part numbers. Much appreciated.
