I followed the instructions in the manual with no luck, then I phoned the help line of the garage door company mine happen to be Chamberlain and they walked me through the process as I sat in my Discovery and punched the button. You have to teach the remote to connect with the garage door box. They all have a 'learning' button. The tech service at the company were great.

morfa,
You can go to www.homelink.com and they have the instructions for vehicle
make and models.
