Gas Mileage
#12
This is according to the UG.. so i am unsure of accuracy. I average 11.6mpg. On the instant side.. around 55mph.. on a flat.. wind coming up the back.. 16mpg highway. Maybe. Around town.. 9-11. I travel rt 80 east and westbound for about 10 miles each way to work. The around town mileage makes up the other 7 miles each way. (Total trip to work is 17 miles one way). I drive it every day.. I don't let it get below 1/4 tank. The most it cost me was $85 to fill. I haven't seen over $75 since then. Keep in mind my rover has crummy tires.. A vibration the refuses to show itself, probably original wires.. and I still have to do the induction cleaning. (Waiting to figure out where the coolant leak is before doing the last 2)

She bitches when she empties the tank in about 250 miles. I ask her how she drove it because I could almost hit 400. She says the usual.. This means at least 1/2 throttle from every stop.. waiting until she is 5 feet from the car in front of her to slam on the brakes.. Every little thing you do can and will affect fuel economy.

Drive as if there is an egg on the gas pedal. You press too fast and the egg breaks.
That is the ONLY way to get MPG from a D2.
Don't go past 55MPH on the highway.
If people get behind you and tail gate, put on the rear fog lights for a time to ward them off.
Getting an extra 2 to 3 MPG saves you a good bit of money when you are commuting.
Never ever try to beat anyone off of a stop light.
Remember, "winning" is saving money at the pump, not passing
some random person.

+1, great, frightens the crap out of tailgater's and also blinds them in the rain or snow if they are too close. Trouble is in France tailgating is normal and they aren't concentrating so they wouldn't notice the rear fog's come on.
