Wires are a good start. You might consider changing your driveline fluids (differentials and transfer case)to synthetics. They have less resistance and run cooler. Same in the engine too. They will make your parts last longer too. I would be wary of the "tornado" things, and stay away from K&N air filters. I am changing my buddies MAF tomorrow because he got "upgraded" to a K&N the last time he got his oil changed. I am going to hit up the shop for some $$ to help. They are a rover shop, you would think they'd know...Changing the O2 sensors will help, but they shouldn't be that bad yet, with only 75K. Just make sure and run 91 or higher fuel. Any less and you will have problems....and worse mileage.

Good Luck.

Actually O2 sensors start to run down hill after around 85k, much of this depends on how the truck has been running, and judging by your gas mileage sounds like its been running very rich... Rich=carbon deposits on the o2 sensors... its a cheap fix for your model year only 2 required, at least you dont have a 99 disco one... 4 @ 95 each sucks.......

Sounds like you have found the problem.
One thing at a time, that way you will not spend money on parts
that are not needed yet, yes I said yet.

Are you saying that a bad crank shaft sensor can affect gas usage???

Yes, the timing will be off.

I have an '02 with a little less mileage on the odometer. I get 14mpg in town and 16mpg on the hwy. I can perhaps tickle 17mpg. I get 250 miles in the top half of a tank.
