Default Gear Oil Options for Tennessee

I'm sure this has been asked before in a general sense, but I'm looking for a bit more specificity. I'm looking to change the gear oil in front and back diff as well as transfer box.

I don't have any record of when it was last done (IF it was done at all in 128k miles) so I am new when it comes to this.

From reading other posts I know there are different weights and depending on where you live (Texas or Alaska or somewhere in between) can make a difference in what oil you put in.

So my question is: Living in TN doing mostly highway driving, buy towing a jon boat around every few weeks, with 128k miles on the car, what weight oil would be best for me? What brand also? Can I get it from O'Reilly or Auto Zone or do I have to order it from AB?

I plan to do the change one night this week, as I have new coils, wires and plugs planned for this Saturday.

Thanks in advance.

For those uses use the recommended factory weight. Get something synthetic. Valvoline, castrol, whatever they have in stock from the big names. Mobil 1 would be a step up but really depends on what you want to spend. Any of the big names will be good quality. Pretty much opinion past that.

I'm in central Alabama and do a lot of hwy driving and towing stuff for hunting and tailgating and went with a valvoline full synthetic 75w-140 only BC of the towing and going off road occasionally. I would reccomend a name brand no matter what you use and if you can order the brass fill plugs to change out the plastic ones. Also get a good pump to put it in there BC there is no easy way to pour it. I've seen guys buy a cheap garden sprayer and use that. Just food for thought

Already bought one. I changed out the tranny oil this past weekend so I went ahead and bought two (one for tranny, one for diff)
