0w-40 is not too thin in the winter especially Redline or Amsoil or mobil 1. At operating temperature it is a 40 weight oil. At startup temps a 0w-40 oil is thicker than a 5w-40 at operating temps so if someone was having a pressure issue like that a thick oil would only be a band-aide solution.
