Default Good job y'all

I just wanted to drop a line and give this community the praise it deserves. I've recently added an L322 to the stable and had a few things that needed repair before getting on the road, some simple, some more advanced, and between three popular forums, there's been pretty much zero help. Searching past posts are valuable, but it doesn't seem like the community is very participatory at present, which was jarring coming from *this* community where there's so much activity for an even older truck.

All that rambling to say, this forum and the support all the members provide have made Disco ownership not only possible, but throughly enjoyable. It's a rare one in the broader car community and took stepping outside of it for the first time in a while to truly appreciate it.

Amen, brother! I've had the same experience in other vehicle forums.

Yeah for real. Again, the back catalogue of posts is pretty helpful, but there's just zero real time support out there like there is here. I'm on the L322 forum on this site trying to forge something, so feel free to chat there when stuff comes up and I'll do my best to help.

Keep breaking ground for me. I'm hoping a L322 is my next vehicle.

You might have better luck on Facebook to be honest. I find with my LR4 the Facebook community is much larger and easier to get help from. Discovery 2 community, this is definitely the go to for me though. Just some thoughts, I also want an L322 one day so hopefully there are some good forum pages

I agree completely. This forum- the D2 section in particular is what auto forums used to be like. It has truly made D2 ownership a lot of fun and with all that, motivating to me to not only learn more, but try and contribute. Just look at the title alone of the silly “build thread” I started a few years ago. It’s amusing if nothing else, but kind of a fun look through time at the full scope of the experience.

However I have to agree with you regarding the newer junk on this forum. Honestly, when the boss had her L320, I found RangeRovers.net to be the best one as they are responsive and generally very helpful there. Nothing touches this one, but I certainly liked the vibe.

That said, what year did you get? We initially were going to look for an L405 for her when she gets back from Euroville (she really doesn’t like the BMW she got new there), but after discussing with the kids, she wants another one just like she had before: Supercharged Jag engine variety L320. There is a guy at an Indy shop up in Denver who got one and is going nuts with it, so all the stuff I couldn’t sort out (nor could the LR dealer here) he is getting wise on, so we’ll have a back up.

Ended up with a 2009 4.4 (non SC for ease of future repairs). I had an L405 at one point and their DIY-ability is atrocious by comparison. And that plastic cross over coolant pipe is just a ticking time bomb...and conveniently placed at the very back of the block by the firewall. Not fun haha.

I've always loved your build thread here!
