Good process for spot-treating rust?
Hey all, I have little bits of rust I need to take care of. Two spots in particular.
One, a couple rocks were thrown at the roof under the previous owner's care and as a result there are 3-4 rock chips with rust in them. Sand and paint?
Two, the driver's side window frame was adjusted incorrectly and for a while (also under PO care) the window frame (door frame) was rubbing against the B pillar. Now there's a spot where paint used to be that's all rusty. Surface rust, and not bad, just rusty.
Bonus question... the windshield was replaced at some point and the dolts at Safelite replaced the weather strip at the top of the windshield with a huge helping of silicone and just crappy cut-to-fit rubber molding. Should that be replaced with the factory rubber strip? My concern is that water might find it's way under the schmoo but not find a way to dry... and then rust.
