I will freely admit that I have driven drunk far too many times and been very blessed to not be in an accident or gotten a DUI. Now that I have a commercial license and drive for a living a rarely drink and don't drive with even the slightest buzz. If I have more than 2 drinks I won't drive.

My mom died at 40 due to alcoholism. I swore to everything I would never drink for the longest time. I made my peace with her death. Honestly? I drink, and I have been drunk. I have fought my demons with alcohol, and went dry for several months after I noticed a pattern that was leading me down the same road my mother went.

Now, I drink a beer or two after a hard day at work, and I go to the bar maybe once every couple of months. Some nights I can drink three or four, some nights I can barely get to the bottom of one without it getting **** warm.

Alcohol is ok in moderation, but some people just can't do moderation. I can. My mother couldn't.
