The grease fitting that came with my Tom Woods driveshaft is made of plastic and does not seem to want to snug up to the fittings enough to make a good connection. The grease goes everywhere but in the driveshaft fittings.

Anybody have any tricks or recomend a specific brand/part # for a fitting for a pistol grip style grease gun?

 

Most any auto parts store. NAPA usually has them.

 

Remove your "grease zerk" and take it to NAPA like Tom said, a assortment pack of 10 is like $5.

 

Good idea. I bought one from pep boys but it didn't do the trick either.

 

Dont take this the wrong way, but you did take the plastic/rubber cap off the zerk?

Is the end if your grease gun fitting securely on the zerk? You should feel it click onto the zerk.

 

I don't feel any clicking. When i press against the drive shaft fitting with the grease gun fitting it usually slips off half the time. Has to be a better way. I waste so much grease trying to lube that thing Im second guessing myself weather or not the thing is full.

Read my Propshaft Rebuild post on how to properly grease u-joints. "Filled" isn't really a description that would apply.

 

Are you popping the plastic cap off the zerk fitting first? I don't think I've ever seen a "plastic zerk" however I have seen many plastic caps.
