greasing the drive shaft

From the comments here, I'm guessing its the front drive shaft that fails. And per a couple of comments the "updated" shaft has 3 u joints.

I'm going to start looking for an updated front shaft.

Yeah mine had 175,000 miles before I put in a rebuilt drive shaft. However the one thats in there now doesn't have a grease zerk for the slip joint.

You two are lucky, they fail at all different miles you just never know but at any rate its not worth the risk.

@lr2001Silver, One of Justin's drive shafts should arrive at my house today. Do you know if they have a grease-able centering ball? Looking forward to putting it in tonight.

It will come a greased up! Just pull yours and install your new! Grease every oil change to keep things lubed up.

Just to be clear, you want to see new grease coming from around all 4 seals on each u-joint.
Until you see that, you're not done.
