That's not half bad. Very inventive. Gives me an idea if I decide to go with black and chrome on my truck (which I've been thinking about doing).

Default Quick Note!!

Don't use the washers when securing the mesh with the screws on the backside of your grill, and make sure you tighten the screw all the way through, the screw will tighten itself into the plastic and secure the mesh and aluminum braces to your grill even more. Now you won't have to worry about the mesh coming off or undone. Its really sturdy and make sure you use the small screws in the pic I posted earlier. #6 bag, 3/8th from Home Depot.

Nice job. Very clean, sharp looking too. Did the screws go all the way through the plastic? If I don't use the aluminum that you expoxied to the grill, will the screws go through the plastic then? How did you attach the emblem to the grill? I assume you used epoxy. What kind of epoxy did you use? Are the screws stainless? I see your in my neck of the woods, and I'm concerned that anything but aluminum and stainless will corrode faster than a fat kid eats a Snickers bar.

Thanks eaglerover, yes you have to use the aluminum with the screws, the screws I used are the perfect length when used with the aluminum supports. They screw through the aluminum and just enough through the plastic of your grill. Nice secure fit. The epoxy helps strengthen the bond. Yes you also epoxy the emblem onto your grill. The gutter mesh is made of aluminum and is quite strong. Its the perfect fit for your D2 grill. No cutting necessary. Screws are stainless I do believe.

I was thinking that maybe an automatic center punch might be a good idea for marking the screw positions on the aluminum, rather than drill it partway thru and risk going thru the whole thing.
