Scored the GROM Audio MP3 kit for Christmas a few hours ago. Reading through the directions it makes note that one should probably know your radio security code before install. I'm not sure where to look for this code. Attempting a search for "radio code" failed due to the word "code" only being 4 letters. I did buzz across one article that said it might be the last 5 digits on the bar code of the radio. Also read that a dealership can get the code as well. I would like to avoid that if possible, the closest stealership is at least 1 hr away. Is this info located any where in the owners manual or else where? Last thing I want is to get full iPhone capability with ZERO radio functionality.

I got an 03 Discovery and my manual said the same thing. I always did my best to avoid disconecting the battery but sooner or later everyone has to disconnect it. When I connected the battery back on, my factory radio did not ask for any codes. It worked just fine. Maybe yours will be the same?

 

What I had to do to get the radio code for mine (after disconnecting battery) was fax proof of identity along with proof of ownership to a dealer, who then happily provided me with the code.
