Grom Audio...?
Hey Guys,
Always appreciate your advice, I want to add aux. input, maybe Bluetooth, etc. to my 2001 Discovery II SE. I'm thinking of getting:
Rover LandRover 99-05 USB Android iPod Bluetooth AUX car kit
What are your thoughts? Any personal experiences? Any suggested alternatives?
Thanks!

I'm sure the Grom is the right way to accomplish your goal, but I just recently came across something that's a low-rent competitor, sort of.
We were planning a long drive next weekend and I know how much my wife likes having her own music on her iPhone to play in the car. We haven't yet had a chance to upgrade the D2's head unit to something modern, so it would have been a choice of CD or radio only. This product lets us wirelessly play music from the iPhones. It's not as audiophile as we would ideally have, but is a very adequate temporary solution:
Cassette Adapter Bluetooth - Bluetooth Music Receiver for Cassette Decks - ION Audio - Dedicated to Delivering Sound Experiences
We had a chance to put this thing through it's paces last weekend while we drove down to pick up our new dog. Quite simply, the results were much better than expected and I don't think we could ask it to do any better. More or less indistinguishable from CD (keep in mind this is streaming from an iPhone over Bluetooth to a factory-original audio system). The convenience of it was perfect, after a quick pairing, control through the iPhone is just like any other setup. It also has the ability to be a speakerphone with a little mic that comes out through the cassette door if desired. Tried it twice, it is possible to use it but clearly not an ideal setup for speakerphone.
For $29.99, I absolutely recommend this device to update an ancient car audio system on the cheap.

I have this setup with the optional Bluetooth dongle that is mentioned on the page. Love it. But there is a newer version with Bluetooth built in. Poke around on the GROM website to search for Land Rover and you should find it easily.
I have the integrated Bluetooth version, I love it. Although, I get some weird static in my speakers on some tracks, but I think that has more to do with old speakers than anything else.

Grom is the way to go. Bluetooth module. Makes phone calls, streams music, even has USB capabilities. Works like a charm just put the microphone up near the overhead console for best results.
The grom works well, you can get on Amazon a bluetooth adaptor that plugs into the cigarette for $40 that works pretty well also.
The Grom is better, but if you want a cheaper fix there are alternatives.

What about one of these?
Car Cassette Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BUN79K/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_yNQIvb8YP5A5F
I used one for a long time and it works great! I don't need it now (traded the vehicle it was used in), but they're very handy.
