The roof is steel. All other outer body panels on the DI are pop can material, but the roof is steel.

Maybe on DII's, but on DI's only the roof is steel. I just went to the garage with a small horse shoe magnet, only the roof is steel, on a DI.

Aluminum dents quite easily with hail, but no worse than the thin gauge steel used in most cars. There was a hailstorm at the local small airport a couple of years ago and the damage was substantial to wing and tail surfaces. Aluminum does expand and contract with heat and cooling more than steel does, so perhaps the dry ice trick would work well to pop out minor dents.

Cheers,
Dave

Well, in case anyone is curious, they hold up well.

My wife's CTS got nailed right next to mine in a hail storm. I got 3 dents and her's was totalled. I tried the hairdrier/ dry ice method and it worked for me. There are several methods on the internet...
