Default Harmonic Balancer will not seat....

Hi again, more woes on the DII front. Replaced the timing chain and oil pump and had the cover assembled (went on very smooth) but was interrupted in the process and did not torque the timing gear bolt. Took the cover back off and torqued the bolt, cleaned the sealant off of the block surface and the back of the timing chain cover. Reassembled (a little harder with the water pump attached) and thought everything was well, but I can not get the harmonic balancer to seat all the way. It looks like the center oil pump gear is not moving back as far as it should. Did I miss getting it on the keyway (if so, how did I get the cover to snug up?

Using a small pick, I can jiggle the gear back and forth so it is not jammed up. Any suggestions?

When turning the crankshaft by hand, the timing gear moves so it must be on the key right? I am going to work it back and forth to see if I can get it to move father back....

Ok, here is the issue. Pulled the timing cover back off and discovered that the center gear of the oil pump came completely out of the middle gear. The old gears do not come apart at all (staked at a couple of places). If I use it like it is, once everything is together will the center oil pump gear stay in place? Or will it walk out? Of course, AB just closed, and BP is using east coast hours now.....

Help!!!
