Has anyone had a leak at the rear axle where the bearing sits?

Default Has anyone had a leak at the rear axle where the bearing sits?

I have diff fluid leaking out of the axle but can’t pin point the area it’s leaking from! It’s the pass side rear! Fluid is all over the inside of the tire. I replaced the bearings about 2 months ago. Pulled that specific bearing but couldn’t find anything out of the ordinary. Just wondering if that’s the only spot that could have a leak?

There's an o-ring on inner edge of hub.

9 times out of 10...vent is plugged. Remove vent tube and blow it out with compressed air.

The only o ring I’ve seen is the one on the bearing itself, slips into the axle Over the cv joint. I’ll check it out and the vent though, thanks for the info

The front hub does not have an o-ring on hub housing, like rear. Yeah, there's a small o-ring on C/V shaft...but it has nothing to do with sealing fluid. Front axle has seals mounting in housing.

Yup happened to me. Previous owner just replaced rear hubs. About 8 months after I bought Clarkson the passenger side started leaking.. replaced it and then the drivers side started leaking. Removed vent tube and traced it. PO had installed a wading kit so there was a lot of tube to clear. it was clogged.

Yes it was plugged up. To make matters worse my vent tube runs up the rear drivers side corner. I had to undo it at one of the couplers and blow it out in two sections.
