While replacing the CV boot I noticed some rust and wear on the half shaft. This is the front driver half shaft. Should I be concerned with either? Should I sand down the rust?
The rust on the axle looks pretty superficial to me. A light sanding would be fine. It looks like the axle sat without turning for a while. I would certainly reuse it.
