HDC Flashing Green in Low

HDC Flashing Green in Low
So just trying to get HDC working for the first time.
Whenever I engage it (in low) all it does is steady flash green and beep.
I also notice I only get the (S) sport mode, never the (m) manual.
Without looking I'm thinking the switch that detects that it's in low range (assuming such a thing exists) is not working. It does detect when the transfer box is disengaged.
Does that sound right?
Any hints on what I should do first?
The truck came with the unit (shift arm?) for enabling the CLD, I'm a little worried that a previous owner tried installing it and gave up.
Thanks!

Either your switch is bad, disconnected, or your truck originally came without CDL. The prior owner may have put in a D1 box which may have not had the provision for the high/low switch which really just detects low. You can see the switch in the D2 txfr case on the left (green wires coming out) and the D1 case on the right not having it. If you crawl under your truck you can feel around for it.

I haven't figured out which transfer case I have yet. Not sure what to look for really (plus, its winter and I have no garage, crawling around under there is unpleasant, cold and salty).
No reason really to believe it's not stock other than the extra part that came with it (in a box).
Which way up are those in the picture (and thanks for the picture)?
But you agree that it's likely the switch? Don't suppose there are any fuses that could be involved?
None the less thanks for the help!

When the high/low detect switch goes bad then HDC will not work as well as manual mode in low range. When the HDC button is pushed in low range the light should flash and about 1 or so dings before the light goes solid green and chiming stops. A new switch cost around $100 from the land rover dealer which is about the only place to buy a new one..
