didnt know this issue was that old! I hit a tree head on once going 60, i called the insurance company and told them i wrecked the car, they wanted to ask me a few questions. They asked if there were any fluids leaking, I said "pick one". they asked if the bumper was pushed in on the car, I said "no, it pushed in on the tree". they wanted to know if the airbags went off. The new lack of hair on my inner arms said yes. I cant imagine trying to salvage that car and neither could the insurance company...the tranny was slipping anyway.....

I also hit a tree once doing 60, in a Ford Excort, I almost dies, another 10 min before the ambulance got there and I would not be here right now.
I was in the hosipital for 2 weeks, at home in bed for another 2 and in a wheel chair for 6weeks.
I still have problems from that accident and that was 20 years ago.
And yes the car was totalled, they had to use the Jaws of Life to get me out.

My only thought on all of this, is let's try to be helpful not condescending or judgmental when a fellow rover owner is reaching out.
