Head Gasket ???????????????
Hello everyone I have a 1997 SE7 Discovery 1, she has 113,003. miles and I think I blew the head gasket today. I may have done this out of ignorance so please don't hold back let me have it cause when my wife finds out I'm dead, I was cleaning the throttle body per can instructions I disconnected intake from the MAF and sprayed in the cleaner no more than four seconds started and reved the engine and bam a cloud of steam, seems to be coming from back of engine, looked closer and found coolant around the valve covers checked oil doesn't look cloudy. I let it cool down filled up resevor and again runs out the back after warm up. Can an amatuer fix this talk to an indy and he said 3 weeks and $2700.00 Please all help is welcome.
Yeah, do a pressure test first. AutoZone has loan a tool, you can borrow a PSI tester and look for the leak.
Cleaning the t-body had nothing to do with it.
How high did you rev the engine?

I'm not sure what the rev limiter is set at...if the gasket was going south the over revving the engine could have finished it. But pressure test the cooling system first.
