head gasket... my pointers
I have a set I bought used of ebay for $65. I took them to a local shop in Austin and had them ceramic coated for about $120. I have not installed yet. But before I do I will get heat numbers and let everyone know my findings.
Mighty nice of you there Ralph, Thanks.
Don't let Dusty fool you. He has a reason for that picture. The glasses represent his knowledge and able to see things clearly. The two kittens represent his twin girls. His shenanigans is just a cover for his pent up anger of getting sucked into the Rover World and not being able to get out. At least that is what Dr. Phil said...
brian (the guy that blew a freon line) had some aftermarkets, on his d2. they were nice, sounded tough.

hmph...
1) that's not actually Dusty in the photo?!
2) for sidewalk psychology, that's sounding pretty good.
just sayin'...

P38 headers wont work, well, they'll bolt up, but the flange is at a bad angle. I found these headers, but they are pricey...
Truck isn't mine... those headers are like 700$.
Genie tri-y headers on my Aussie spec D2 4L. Major difference in low end torque and mid range power. Much more pleasant to drive and holds gears longer going up long hills. Better mileage too which is always a bonus. Also put some high flow Magnaflow cats and a good mildsteel 2.5" straight through system with a resonator to kill any drone on the highway.

This photo makes me wish I didn't have that stupid SAI crap hanging all over my engine. The engine bay doesn't look so cluttered and complicated without it. It sure would cut down the time on valve cover and head gasket jobs.
I'm seriously thinking of removing the SAI all together. Time to research SAI removal threads I guess. I wonder how much this will cost me? Thanks a lot for posting that photo Dane! I won't be able to sleep right until I get this done.
And this is how I blow all my money.

It is a RHD, but that header kit will work for a LHD truck. I honestly would get everything settled with the suspension/drivetrain before I dove into the engine bay. I understand the $$$ thing, Rovers are expensive.
