Default Head Gasket Sealant

Anyone use any extra sealants on there head gaskets? I heard the dealerships use hylomar around the water jackets on the head gaskets.

Also on the valley pan gasket, plus the 2 end seals, should any RTV be used?

Certainly the four corners of the "lip" seals. I have the HG head work done, no extra sealant, and am reworking the intaKe/valley pan (bolt stripped out). Will add to my posts in a few days. The valley pan no wanna line up so good.

You never put any form of sealant on a head gasket unless you are old school and use Copper Spray on the head side only which I do.
If you are wanting to make sure your head gaskets hold up take extra time when installing/torquing the head bolts and make sure to use head bolt thread lubricant on the bolts, nothing else, so you get a uniform torquing across the heads.

Never sealant on a head gasket.
Unless you want to invite failure to dinner and then you will
need to do it again - and NOT use sealant.

Hylomar - I would not use it either.
I would use Permatex non hardening
or aviation gasket sealer ONLY on the valley gasket and the rubber U's on front and back of block.
