The belt comes off with a breaker bar in the spring loaded tensioner, which is under the alternator, but you can reach it pretty easy.
I will measure thread sizes for you in a couple hours when I'm home from work, if no one has responded by then.

Here is the belt tensioner, it bolts to the alternator bracket, and has a square fitting on the back side for a 1/2" drive ratchet or breaker bar.
Put the breaker bar in and pull(it only goes one way) and the tension is released and you can lift the belt of.
Remember to take the fan off and power steering pump pulley bolts out first, as you need belt tension to hold them both for removal.

You don't need a special fan tool either, and the fan has a regular right hand thread.
Put an adjustable wrench on the fan's hex(roughly a 1 foot adjustable wrench), and smack the wrench handle counter clockwise with a hammer, preferably a dead blow hammer.
It should spin right off.

Also, the AC compressor will fit perfectly in the airbox(lid and filter removed), so you do Not have to disconnect any AC lines, it just swings out of the way.

You'll be amazed at how well the D2 is designed compared to other vehicles, it's as if they knew it was going to break down alot, and they wanted it to be easy to work on, lol!
The hardest part will be cleaning any crud, or rusted fasteners.
And FYI, White 3M Roloc brand bristle discs are one of the quickest and easiest ways to remove old, stuck on gasket material, and without damaging the aluminum.
They're usually 2 for $20 U.S.

You may also want to consider spraying a light coat of copper spray gasket to both sides of the head gaskets.
These engines seem to need all the help they can get.

Last question parts should be here to day - they won't be but they should.

Coolant is it easiest to just drain the system ? I need to anyway but I want to do a flush this spring anyway, so best to do the flush and to drain the works ?
