The D2 I just bought has HID installed. Not sure why but the lights are aimed at the ground and the high beams are no where near as bright as the low beams.

I think you'd be better money spent on converting to '03 lenses. My '03 has Fantastic Lighting and it's legal. I'm not sure what bulbs are currently installed as they were there when I bought it, but seriously good lighting. They seem to have gotten the reflectors aimed just about perfectly.

Right on
I was told the only reason you don't install higher k like 8000k and above in factory housing was they might burn the lamp assembly. Good looking out Racer. I will have to check make sure I'm not blinding people at night. I wouldn't want to cause an accident.
Thanks Racer

So, after all of that, all I got was Silverstar's (don't last as long) or Sylvania (2nd best). Guess it's a trip to auto store to see what they have.

To clarify the state law comments. The NHTSA rules always trump any state laws as far as vehicle lighting goes.

Should be fine if you just aim it low.

SPF 40 might be a good idea also. Just in case.

Nothing wrong with HID's in the factory housing. They do not glare excessively if you aim them properly.
