HOLY CRAP! Are you talking about a foil-faced butyl product like Dynamat? I Dynamated my doors with ONE layer and I wanted to punch babies afterwards.

Nope, similar to this stuff

Isolant haute performance à bulles en aluminium Ep. 7 mm - Brico Dépôt

inert non-butyl foil faced insulation.

If it's an off road rig I'd say just leave it out. If it's a vehicle you drive then I'd get an upholstery shop to just reupholster the headliner.

Both paint and bedliner are going to smell pretty bad and they won't really look that great. I don't think the bedliner will stick all that well, either.

Also, France is on the same wavelength I am. I insulated my roof with the same kind of thing, but I used the Reflectix brand.

My '04 is in excellent shape. My headliner does sag a bit, but I will reline it with Alcantara. I used to sell BMW's back in '02 and 03. The M5's came with Alcantara headliner, and its the best (IMHO).
I have dry hands and touching the traditional headliner material is like fingers on a chalkboard!

Hey Virgil Grillone, How expensive is the Alcntara? I have my headliner out because I had to run some wires for my ham radio antenna & some rear lights on my roof rack. I insulated the roof with the reflextix stuff. Re-doing the headliner in Alcantara seem like a really nice way to go, if its not super expensive.Have you got any pricing on the Alcantara material? Thanks!

I just had my headliner redone in black suede. Cost for labor to remove the headliner, recover, and reinstall plus materials was $800 and that’s with high hourly rates in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Default Extrq D2 headliner.

I have an extra D2 headliner from a reputable vendor. He accidentally sent two and told me to keep the second rather than him going through the expense and trouble getting it back to him If anyone wishes to discuss, im at 832-260-4761 and am in Houston.

Go full Native!

I re-did mine using some material I picked up while in Hawaii.

Alcantara is nice stuff. Pretty much what is on our door card inserts. I have some neoprene fabric I will be using. I will post pictures tomorrow.
