Is this another one of those options that has to be "activated" thru the BECM by the dealer? (like fog lights and heated windshield)

Yes, I have leather. I just checked everything and found out I don't have heated seats. AB is wrong when they said "ALL Discovery Series II vehicles WITH LEATHER SEATS have pre-wired seat backs with seat heating elements." I found the wiring harness beneath the seat. It's a 4 wire plug (I think it was pink, green, black, pink) and there is power going to it when I push the switch. But there is no place for it to plug into. Oh well....

I have never heard of that either, in fact had it verified to my by a senior Land Rover parts guy, who double checked with his service manager who had been there for 25+ years, when I asked before I got my kit. You might call a dealer, have them run your VIN and see if your vehicle came factory with leather.

I'm going to the dealer on Monday to have an alignment done so I'll have them look at it. The guy in the service dept said it may just need the relay and the heater element plugged in. So I'll find out next week.
