With the cold months coming this is somthing I really need to get sorted out. My disco (2.5 tdi k reg) heater when switched on just makes a loud noise, like a rough grinding noise. it blows a little bit but not much. I had it all in bits and checked all pipes for blockage etc with no luck. Might have to take it into garage as getting to the main heater is not somthing I feel capable to do, anyone any idea on cost of this ?

 

It sounds like the motor is gone. It's a BIG job to take out the main heater. I think it is the same as Range Rovers and on them the dash has to come out. If you take it to a dealer it will cost a lot. By the way k-reg does not mean much to most of the punters on this site.
