how much play? like you can spin it, or you can move its position forwards and backwards?

BTW, don't know if this helps figure anything out, but once I let my foot off the accelerator the vibration goes away until I accelerate again!

would this cause the vibration to go away once I took my foot off the accelerator and the start vibrating again once I put my foot back on the accelerator?
