Default Heeeeelp! - 2003 facelift DII - Can't get my dipped lights working!

Hi all,
Wondering if someone here can assist me before I take a sledgehammer to the car.

Dipped beam has stopped working, sidelights & headlights are fine. Have checked bulbs, fuses, connections, swapped the stalk that switches on the lights, flasher & the indicators, still nothing.

I'm going mental trying to fix it. People talk of 'IDU, BCU' and various other fuseboard/passenger compartment modules, has anyone had this problem & fixed that can tell me what to do & where to find it?

Any help in resolution will result in the saving of my sanity, a large LR dealer bill & most of all my sincere thanks!

Nick

Does / Did your car have day running lights enabled ? If so it could be the relay for them thats gone duff...... as the IDM is only connected to the "dipped" beam when day running lights are on.

check fuses 3, 9 ,10, 22, and check if there is power there, if there is , then it is most likley a fault in the IDM, which could be something as simple as a burnt out / damaged track.

The IDM is an integral part of the passenger compartment fusebox.

By "dipped" do you mean low beam? Mine has a delay sometimes when I turn them on for some odd reason they stay off anywhere from 2-5 mins.

This was going on before I did my HID conversion and persisted after that and since I put the originals back in.

High beams always turn on immediately. So far it has not been an issue, but has me worried the wont turn on when I need em.
