Default Heim joints on the road?

Has anyone had luck with heim joints instead of tie rod ends? I have them on my 95 currently, but the problem is that the guy that put them on bored out the knuckle to get a big bolt through... one of mine sheared in 2 the other day, and i'm thinking of the easy fix to replace it or a complete axle /or a knuckle swap. i understand heim's (spherical joints) are good off road, but the majority of my driving is on the road, and so far i've been haveing a severe front end shake too. any ideas?

I am sorry but I do not know what these are.
Are you talking about the swivel ball or something else, like suspension?

They can work great as long as it is built correctly. You could use the same set up but have another peice welded so that it will have a double shear. It should solve your problems.
