Default Hello!

Hi there, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Gabe, and I live in Northern California(Marin County). I have a 2000 Discovery 2 with 119,00 miles on the odometer. I've had it for a couple years now and have always planned on creating my ideal expedition vehicle. Several months ago just as i was researching suspensions, tires, lockers etc... i got in an accident. I've attached some pictures of the car post accident, and then where it is now. Since the accident I have been slowly healing the body, while fixing every mechanical issue that i could find. I am just now beginning the build process i had been planning, with a Tactical Rovers winch bumper on my horizon and a GBR heavy duty front driveshaft already installed. I am shooting to have the majority of modifications complete by the Western National Land Rover Rally, so until October we are in build mode. Ill be updating this thread as the Rover receives upgrades, with lots of photos! Thanks for all the help so far.

I'm gonna update this thread as I upgrade the rover. A recent trip to the Lake Tahoe area found me searching craigslist for car parts, and sure enough I managed to score an ARB winch bumper with IPF driving lights for $400! So as soon as I get the chance to throw that on I will. At the same time I will do the ABS bypass to solve my three amigos situation once and for all. Oh and one last thing, just placed my order for the terrafirma 3 inch por sport lift kit accompanied by of course stainless steel extended brake lines and a terrairma steering damper. Exciting stuff happening in the next few weeks!

In the past week I have changed the oil, power steering fluid, as well as the transfer case and both differentials. Tranny fluid next....

Okay the bumper is on and the three amigos have been taken care of. Now waiting on the lift! I'm gonna be purchasing parts in waves so once the lift is on, I'll purchase wheels and tires. I'm going from stock 18's to 16 inch steelies, as far as tire size any recommendations? Down the road a bit I will build up the axles with heavy duty components so I'd like to go as big as possible on the tires. 32.5's are recommended. Any suggestions are appreciated

Last Sunday I installed the 3 inch pro sport lift kit as well as the extended brake lines. I have 5 brand new 16x8 steel wheels sitting in my garage awaiting tires. I am leaning towards 285/75/16 BF Goodrich T/A KO2's, if you have any suggestions or recomendations on tire size or brand let me know. In my garage right next to the new wheels is a Harbor Freight Badlands 12,000 pound winch that is waiting to be installed as well. The winch mount on the ARB bumper seems to be a little untraditional and i found myself struggling with the install. Any tips are appreciated. I also attached a cool picture next to a cool Rover I see around.
