Welcome. Start by pulling the codes. Here in the States, most auto parts retailers will do this no charge. Better option though is to get your own OBD scanner. You can get an inexpensive unit that will handle the basics and it's a good thing to have around if you plan to keep the truck.

i didn't know there were/are 2003 4.0's. i thought they all were 4.6's

also, the flashing light means you are misfiring under load, ei, going up the hill is putting more strain on the engine and working it harder.

when was the last time the spark plugs and spark plug wire were renewed?

Buy yourself a ultraguage or something similar to constantly monitor your temperatures it also reads codes.
You have misfires probably weird how it only happens under load
check plugs wires connections etc if you are misfiring only on cylinder under the same coil pack you may need to replace your coil packs. Cheap at rock auto

@jastutte Only the Disco 2s that had the 4.6L engine are the NAS spec thus he's in the Republic of Georgia so he has an '03 4.0.

@Giorgier download a copy of the Discovery 2 RAVE manuals. They can help identify the specific areas to check for those exact fault codes.
