Default HELP! 03 discovery problems

i was driving my aunts 2003 discovery and goin about 30 and got on it about 3/4 throttle. it down shifted and got to about 50mph then cut out like i let out of the throttle. i coasted to a stop sign and it was idling at about 250 rpms. if you press the gas to take of it cuts out, but you can pedel it and get it up to about 1500 rpms but thats as far as it goes. any one know what it could be? i trailered it to my dads mechanic and the fuel pump and regulator have pressure. any suggestions? thanks

If it is the crank sensor starting to fail, it may not throw a fault code.
How many miles on her Disco?
