Help!
My 2000 Disco 2 just broke down. I was simply driving it down the road when it just shut down, like I ran out of gas. All the electrical was functioning but my motor shut down. Now when I try to start it, it doesn't start, like its not getting any gas. Could this be a fuel pump problem?
Well you were right. I went back after about 2 hours and it started right up. Now what to do about the crank sensor? Will it do this again? Can it be replaced? and how hard is it to replace?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
Yes it will do it again and get worse so it won't start at all.
If you are pretty mechanical, yes it is pretty easy to replace.
It is located at the back on the engine, drivers side next to the bellow housing and under the head.
Go to Rover Connection, click on Disco2 parts, scan down to crank sensor, click on the picture and you will see what it looks like.
