My center console is getting really hot on long trips (over 100 miles). I don't notice it while driving around town, but when on a long drive, I can start to feel a lot of heat emanating from the center console below the center storage compartment. Anyone have any idea what the problem is? Any clue how much it is to fix?

 

Its probably getting hot due to the rear heat vents that run under the console.

 

Heat from the rear heat vents.
Heat from the transmission.
Heat from the transfer case.
Heat from the exhaust.
They all heat up and all of that excess heat heats everything around it.
The longer you drive the more heat that builds up.
