Default Help changing head bolts

I'm changing all the gakest on top, specially the head gaskets, and I just can't remove the head bolts. I tried breaker bar, air tools, and whatnot. I was told to use a torch.
Any other ideas? I'd like to get it done for the weekend, great weather for off-roading![8D]

I just did this. I'm in the process of putting it all back together now. I took a steel pole about 5 feet long that was/is the handle of a floor scraper and slipped it over my breaker bar and broke them loose. I don't think I'd try a torch, especially around all the gas lines that are disconnected. Leverage is the only way to do it. It's also recommended to replace the head bolts by some. I did just to be on the safe side.
Good Luck

torch not a good idea. the problem is that the anti sieze lub either was not applied, or broke down. It happens with al. heads. The same applies to all al. parts. it is a good idea to have it around in case you have to change a tire. Remember that the heads are taken off in a specific pattern, with torque specs. hope it helps. gotta love a rover. duboff
