Before you replaced the head gaskets, did it over heat, if so how hot by the gauge and for how long?
Yes, did job with all new head bolts, followed Rave, and did all torque per Rave. Heads were warped, so had them machined. Before doing head gasket, car overheated without any warnings and burst a hose. Replaced hose, ECT sensor, and thermostat. Head gasket problem didn't start until about 3 months later.

Well, as mentioned already, you will at least inspect the manifold bolts. If they are loose, re-due them using blue lock tite, if they are not loose, you will most likely need to open up the engine again. Before doing that, you might want to do a good compression test to see if the coolant leak shows up. Make sure to remove all the plugs, wedge open the t/body and pull the fuel pump fuse for a more accurate test.

So you had overheat issues, worked on some of it, then it progressed over three months and then you did head gaskets and had problems after 4 days?

After working on the overheat issue, car ran great for about 3 months, though I started hearing swishing sound from the expansion tank while driving. Then ticking sound, turned into rattling, which was a blown head gasket. Now rattling is gone, but engine is flooding after 3 days.

Got it. Agree that least costly to hope for is valley pan gasket problem or front cover. Since you had lots of pressure in the system from the HG when bad, but no oil in the coolant then, I'd lean away from the front cover gasket.

In the future, never drive your Rover if you have air swishing thru the heater core, that is your first indicator of a coolant loss.
