Exactly what I have done, twice now on 2 diff cars, a manual and an auto. REF the bushings, if you have a "hobby" type electric tool, which is quite small, you can get that in there and "open" up the transfer case lever hole with a small grinding stone.

no matter what you have to dill the hole open? the plate from the D1 cannot be put in its place? i thought it might just bolt into place. im still waiting for it to arrive so maybe i'm completely wrong.

thats a good question..can you just use the D1 cover plate?...I dunno, I used a dremel to cut out a square in mine DII cover plate so the shifter could fit.

i will find out. should have the package today or tomorrow with the plate. the less cutting and **** i have to do the quicker i can get it done. then i can concentrate on other things.. like hub i need to replace.

Man Just finished (literally just came inside) my D1 CDL install in my D2... I have to cut the trans. tunnel plate tomorrow, then I hope to do some good off roading this weekend in TN...
