Default Help...Decode Engine Number
Can someone please help me decode this engine number.

Name: a09794a2.jpg Views: 3870 Size: 54.1 KB

It seems the 96D is an '01 Reman. 4.6, but rave says the 9.35:1 compression only went to MY 99.

Rave sometimes gives inconsistent information. Where are you reading that? I'm pretty sure that all of the NAS D2 have 9.35 CR, 4.0 and 4.6, and the owners manuals and workshop manual seem to confirm this.

This engine is in my '00 DII, but it came from a Range Rover, so I was reading it in the RR Rave manual section 04 page 4.

oh. What the deal with that is.... up to 99 the P38 range rover had a GEMS engine, and then from 99 on they have bosch engines. All NAS D2 have bosch engines.
