You only have reduced one misfire code since the start. I have a bad O2 sensor but it never gives me misfire codes and truck runs smooth. Will you be able to check if the wires are all properly seated? Sometimes it get loose after new install because you were able to eliminate 308. Well, switching the O2 sensor just to check is a bit harder than replacing with new ones but you can try. At times the O2 code could be a result of misfires. Were you able to check vacuum leaks? I am sure youre almost there.

My codes were a typo I also got the P0308 so no misfires have been solved. Yes I have replaced the wires then took the intake off replace the gasket and reinstalled the wires a second time with the new coil. I just don't see 4 exact cylinder misfires from two wire removals. I have sprayed brake cleaner everywhere to look for a vacuum leak and no dice. Only thing I know to do is replace things that other people have replaced on this site to fix misfires issues that are somewhat similar to mine. I cant find anyone that has had misfires on the same cylinders or even multiple cylinders on different banks. I would think if it was 02 then the misfire would all be on the same bank. I cant find anything in common with these four cylinders and why do I continue to get these 4 cylinders every time!! Its got to be computer related somehow. I wish someone could explain the sequence of events that cause these 4 cylinders to misfire.

Can you remember which sensor was the offending one for these codes? My p0153 code makes me think passenger side front sensor. If that dont work i can swap them.

Actually your post in 2009 was the exact codes I had so I spent $120 and bought two new o2 sensors. Had to take the exhaust pipe off to remove the o2 sensors and with a very large pipe wrench removed them very slowly...until all threads were eaten up it then finally it came out. Both was literally welded from rusted heat and whatever else. I had to buy a o2 sensor thread restorer (18mm x 1.5) and run thru the bung a few times to get the new o2 sensor to reseat correctly.

My son drove the truck to GA 45 minutes one way, drove it all weekend and then back and so far no codes. In fact, i didn't even clear the original codes. I did remove the battery cable while I did the work but when I started it back up no codes. Fingers crossed that this fixed the issue.

I have searched and searched for this exact problem but until I saw LR03NJ post in 2009 I didn't put the O2 sensor causing misfires especially four cylinders on two different banks....I have read a lot of controversy over whether or not a o2 sensor could actually cause misfires.....since the o2 sensor is the only thing I have replaced since the last codes I feel that is in fact plausible. I hope this post helps someone else. Always err on the side of a tune up with misfires. Plugs and wires and then coils and finally o2 sensors depending on your codes. if all your cylinder misfire are on one coil then probably gonna be the coil. BTW my son always uses 87 octane...and I know that the LR's like the higher octane but if you run techtron through it fairly regularly it should be fine. I did say "should be" but if you own a discovery II prepare to be very frustrated anyways. These are very finicky vehicles. I know Ill probably get blessed out for the 87 octane comment especially with ethanol but he hasn't seen any difference using the gas within a two year period. He has the HUM device in his truck and it tracks the gas mileage for him and in fact no difference from 87 to 93. this could have caused the o2 sensors to go bad but these trucks have them go bad with a lot less miles on premium gas. I will encourage him to use at least 89 going forward. Thanks everyone for your help and comments.

I just had that happen to on my disco II 03 HSE, it took me awhile but after watching the engine run and looking around I happened to notice 2 spark plug wires vibrating! I took to 2 wires off and noticed the plugs had worked there was loose! I'm no mechanic but after researching and watching for weird s$@t. I found the problem. Start with the plugs and wires and work your way out so to speak.
